Blackhawks Post 3–1 Weekend in Mississippi
MERIDIAN, Miss. / DECATUR, Miss. — Southeastern Community College Baseball posted a 3–1 record over the weekend in Mississippi, opening with a doubleheader sweep of Meridian Community College before closing the trip with a split on Sunday against East Central Community College and Wallace State–Hanceville. The Blackhawks offense totaled 39 runs across four games, while the pitching staff delivered several strong performances throughout the weekend.
Game 1: Southeastern 5, Meridian 1
The Blackhawks opened the weekend with a strong pitching performance and timely hitting to secure a 5–1 win over Meridian Community College on Friday.
Efrain Osorio drove in a run with a double, while James Nydegger added an RBI and a stolen base. Jake Miller, Gavin Awbrey, Jackson Petsche, and Danny Rollins each crossed the plate as SCC capitalized on late offensive pressure.
Keaton Fenn was dominant on the mound, tossing six scoreless innings while allowing just three hits and striking out six. Sean Sanderson earned the win with 1.2 shutout innings in relief, and Grant Parker recorded the save.
Game 2: Southeastern 12, Meridian 5
Southeastern completed the sweep of Meridian with a 12–5 victory in the nightcap, scoring seven runs in the first inning to take control early.
Kam Francois led the offense with four RBIs, while James Nydegger drove in three. Jake Miller added two RBIs, and Logan Wroe and Gavin Awbrey chipped in with extra-base hits.
Isaac Flamino picked up the win, working 4.1 innings, and Grant Mather closed out the game with 2.2 scoreless innings to earn the save.
Game 3: East Central 16, Southeastern 6
The Blackhawks dropped their first game of the weekend in a 16–6 loss to East Central Community College on Sunday morning.
Jake Miller homered and drove in two runs, while Jackson Petsche also launched a two-run home run. James Nydegger added an RBI as SCC accounted for six runs offensively.
East Central used a big middle innings surge to pull away. Kyler Kaczmarksi took the loss on the mound, with Colton Angell and Max Leno working in relief.
Game 4: Southeastern 16, Wallace State–Hanceville 6
Southeastern closed the weekend on a high note with a 16–6 win over Wallace State–Hanceville, powered by an 18-hit offensive outburst.
Jake Miller went 4-for-5 with four runs scored, while Efrain Osorio hit a home run and drove in three. Tayvon Holomar delivered a standout performance with two home runs and three RBIs. Gavin Awbrey, Kam Francois, and Jackson Petsche each recorded multi-hit games.
Nolan Meis earned the win in relief with 2.1 scoreless innings, and the bullpen combined to limit Wallace State down the stretch.
