January 29, 2026
It was the final home wrestling meet for the SCC women's program Wednesday night and there was no better way to go out than to make history with the first win for the team. SCC won 33-20 against Iowa Lakes at Loren Walker Arena.
"Enjoy it we got practice tomorrow," said coach Gary Woods II, who got tossed in the air by the team in celebration. "I'm proud of you."
"It's been pretty fun. It's an amazing facility," said Farmer about her time at SCC.
She was recognized at center mat before the match with her parents Shaun and Kelly and coaches, Woods and Drake Fox.
"It's been great for her and she really loves the college," said her mother, Kelly. "It's nice to come see her wrestle." It was extra nice tonight as she won 12-2 in a Technical Fall in the second period.
"It's a big accomplishment for me and my family is really proud of me," added Farmer on her night and time at SCC.
Next up for the women is a match Friday at Eureka College near Peoria, Ill, and then its districts in February and the national tournament in March.
