Blackhawks Name Rhodes Interim Head Coach
WEST BURLINGTON, Iowa — Southeastern Community College has announced Shavonna Rhodes will serve as the Interim Head Volleyball Coach for the Spring 2026 season, with the possibility of continuing in the role into Fall 2026.
Rhodes brings collegiate coaching experience and a player centered approach to the SCC Blackhawks. Before becoming an Assistant Coach at Southeastern, she previously served as an Assistant Volleyball Coach at Andrew College, where she was involved in practice planning, player development, recruiting, and match preparation.
With extensive experience at the junior college level, Rhodes emphasizes fundamentals, competitiveness, and team chemistry. Her coaching philosophy centers on building disciplined, high-effort teams while preparing student-athletes for success at the next level.
Rhodes earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from John Carroll University and is currently pursuing a Master of Education in Training and Development from Cleveland State University. She also holds a Volleyball Coaching certification and brings experience in leadership development that supports her work with student-athletes.
As Interim Head Coach, Rhodes will oversee all aspects of the SCC volleyball program during the spring season, including training, competition planning, and player development, while continuing to lay the foundation for future success.
