Assistant Men's and Women's Soccer Coach

Bio

A native of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Melo moved to the United States in 2018. As an undergraduate at Union College,  Coach Melo was a four-year member of the men’s soccer team and was part of the squad that took home the 2019 Appalachian Athletic Conference Championship.  He was named a 2019 Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete and 2019 NAIA Champion of Character. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and Sports Recreation Management from Union College in 2022.

From May 2022 to May 2023, Melo was an assistant coach with the men's soccer team at Emory and Henry College. He was responsible for assisting in all aspects of the program including training, recruiting and day-to-day operations. 

From August 2023 to May 2025, Melo worked as a graduate assistant at Ottawa University with the men's soccer team. Graduating with a MBA in Finance.

 

Coach Melo holds a United States Soccer Federation (USSF) National D Coaching License.
