West Burlington, IA-Freshman first baseman Maxton Polad earned ICCAC Division II Player of the Week after hitting over .500 for the week. He went 8 for 14 (.571) with seven of his eight hits going for extra bases. He knocked four doubles and three home runs to total 14 RBI and 10 runs scored. His hot bat helped SCC complete a sweep of No. 18 Northeast where the Blackhawks outscored the Hawks 48 to 15 in the three-game series. Polad is having a solid freshman year. He is hitting .339 with 10 home runs (team leader), 46 RBI (third-most on team) and 48 runs scored (fourth-most on team).
