Parks Walk Off Caps Off Perfect Week for the Blackhawks
Southeastern Community College turned in a dominant week, going a perfect 5-0 while overwhelming opponents with an explosive offense that produced 98 runs across the stretch.
The week opened with a sweep of Northeast Iowa on April 16.
In Game 1, Southeastern pulled away for an 18-6 win, using an 11-run fifth inning to break the game open. Danny Rollins powered the offense with a 3-for-3 performance that included a grand slam and six RBIs. Cooper Hummel added five RBIs of his own, while James Nydegger homered and scored four times.
Game 2 saw even more offensive fireworks in a 26-1 rout. The Blackhawks collected 18 hits and blasted six home runs. Kam Francois led the way with four hits and four RBIs, Nile Sinn drove in five runs, and Gavin Awbrey launched two home runs with four RBIs. On the mound, Nolan Meis controlled the game, allowing just one run over five innings.
Southeastern carried that momentum into a three-game sweep of Des Moines Area on April 18–19.
In the opener, Southeastern rolled to a 20-2 victory, highlighted by a 13-run fifth inning. James Nydegger drove in five runs, while Jake Miller and Jackson Petsche each contributed three RBIs. Kyler Kaczmarski earned the win, going six innings and allowing just one earned run with seven strikeouts.
Game 2 provided the only close contest of the week, but Southeastern still came through late for a 6-5 win. Seongwoo Park delivered a clutch two-RBI hit to help secure the victory, and Sean Sanderson picked up the win in relief.
The final game saw Southeastern complete the sweep with an 8-4 win. Brady Coffman sparked the offense with a two-run home run, while Efrain Osorio recorded three hits and Gavin Awbrey added two RBIs. Keaton Fenn turned in a strong start, going six innings and allowing just one unearned run with eight strikeouts, and Grant Mather earned the save.
With the perfect week, Southeastern improved to 36-9 overall and continued to strengthen its position in conference play.
