Southeastern Community College put together a dominant week, finishing 6-1 overall while securing a series win over Indian Hills Community College.
Powered by explosive offense and steady pitching, the Blackhawks scored 88 runs across seven games, continuing to establish themselves as one of the top offenses in the conference.
Game Recaps
April 6 – vs. Heartland CC (W, 7-6)
SCC opened the week with a tight win, using timely hitting late. Gavin Awbrey led the offense with four hits and three RBIs, while Efrain Osorio and Awbrey each homered. The bullpen locked it down late to secure the win.
April 8 – at Marshalltown CC (W, 18-8 / W, 24-4)
The Blackhawks erupted offensively, combining for 42 runs in the sweep.
- Game 1: Brady Coffman drove in five, while Jackson Petsche added four RBIs.
- Game 2: SCC launched multiple home runs, highlighted by Jake Miller (2 HR) and Danny Rollins (2 HR).
April 9 – vs. Carl Sandburg (W, 16-0)
SCC rolled in a shutout victory behind Cooper Hummel (HR, 4 RBI) and a dominant outing from Mason Waterbury, who led a combined shutout effort.
Series vs. Indian Hills CC
April 11 (Game 1) – W, 2-1
A tight, low-scoring game saw Kyler Kaczmarski deliver five strong innings. Jackson Petsche's solo home run proved to be the difference, with Grant Mather earning the save.
April 11 (Game 2) – W, 12-2
SCC broke the game open early behind Kam Francois, who went 4-for-5 with 5 RBIs. The Blackhawks drew 14 walks and never looked back. Isaac Flamino earned the win with six strong innings.
April 12 – L, 11-9
SCC's only loss of the week came in a back-and-forth battle. The Blackhawks totaled 17 hits, with Grant Lokken (HR, 3 RBI) and Danny Rollins (HR) leading the offense, but couldn't overcome a big middle innings surge from Indian Hills.
