Farina, Clark and Stewart named Athletes of the Week
Baseball – Division II
Michael Farina – Southeastern – Sophomore – Shortstop
Southeastern’s Michael Farina had an outstanding week, playing a key role in leading the No. 7 Blackhawks to four ranked wins over conference opponents. Over five games, Farina went 11-for-20 at the plate, tallying a home run, a triple, two walks, eight runs scored, seven RBI, and two stolen bases. His best performance came in the opening game of a three-game series against No. 12 Iowa Central, where he went a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate, scored three runs—including a home run—and drove in five RBI.
Softball – Division I
Jeilane Stewart – Southeastern – Freshman – Catcher
Jeilane Stewart had a strong week at the plate, blasting four home runs over four games. She went 7-for-10 (.700), scoring seven runs, driving in eight RBI, and adding a stolen base to her stat line. Her biggest performances came in a doubleheader against Spoon River (Ill.). In game one, she went 2-for-4 with two home runs and three RBI, then followed it up in game two with a perfect 3-for-3 outing, launching two more homers and collecting five RBI. Over the four games, Stewart posted a remarkable .727 on-base percentage and a 2.63 OPS—all without striking out once.
Navy Clark – Southeastern – Sophomore – LHP
For the third time this season, Navy Clark has earned Athlete of the Week honors after another dominant showing in the circle. Clark pitched a total of 12 innings across two starts—a 16-0 win over Marshalltown and a 7-1 victory against Spoon River (Ill.). She allowed just six hits and one earned run across both games while striking out nine batters in each outing for a total of 18 strikeouts. Her combined ERA for the week was an impressive 0.58. The lone run she surrendered came on a solo home run in the fifth inning against Spoon River.
