West Burlington, IA- The Southeastern Community College Men's Basketball team has won 5 of its last 6 games. All but one game has been a 10 point difference in the ending score. Last night's game against North Iowa Area Community College left the Blackhawks with some breathing room winning the ball game with a final score of 109-58. SCC sophomore Patrick Jackson was on fire putting up 20 points on the board. The last two games for the Blackhawks Jackson has put up 20 points on the board while shooting 15-21 overall and 7-9 from the 3 pt. range. Coach Lorenzo Watkins has depth on his team. Every Blackhawk had the opportunity to get some minutes in the game. "They deserve it," Watkins said. "It was almost to redeem themselves from the other night. That's what I'm showing them. The other night I put them in and they got outscored, 17-6. Tonight I put them in and they win, 25-6. That's the difference — keeping it there and not let it go down. They deserve it. They work just as hard as anybody." Alier Riak, a 6-7 freshman, also got his first extended playing time of the season. In 17 1/2 minutes, Riak made 4 of 5 shots, pulled down six rebounds, dished out an assist and had a steal. The Blackhawks are now 8-2 and are scheduled to travel to Iowa Lakes Community College in Estherville, IA this Saturday, December 2nd. Tip off is scheduled for 7 pm.
