It's more than just a game

West Burlington, IA- Part of the Southeastern Community College vision is about transforming lives and strengthening communities.  The SCC Athletic Department knows that participating in athletics is more than just a game. It's about the experience.  SCC's Enrollment Project Specialist, James Rogers has been reaching out to community youth teams and coaches in hopes to have future SCC Blackhawks attend a home game for any of the sports offered at SCC.  "This year, the reponse from teams that are wanting to be a part of the Blackhawk experience is exciting.  Our goal is to reach out to the younger community and getting them on campus and excited about SCC."  Middle school and high school teams from the local area have been invited to attend a home game of their choice and in return will receive free admission, a free t-shirt and get the change to meet with a SCC staff member to get to know more about the college.  The La Harpe Jr. High Basketball team coached by Ryan Hopper attended the SCC Men's Basketbal game vs. NIACC.  Several teams have already attend games including the 8th grade Fort Madison boys basketball team coached by Michael Dear and the Pack 51 Boys Scouts from Dallas City, IL.  Those interested in attending a game are encourage to contact James Roger, Enrollment Project Specialist at 319-208-5123, jrogers@scciowa.edu
