Blackhawks split both doubleheaders with the Tritons.

Game 1

Otis Roby took the mound for the Blackhawks in the opening game of the series. Roby surrendered a pair of homeruns to give the Tritons a 3-0 lead early in the game.

The Blackhawks fought back in the bottom of the first inning when Luis Vargas hit a sacrifice fly with Chase Wood on third base to make the score 3-1.

In the top of the second the Tritons struck again. A one out single followed by a two out homerun gave the Tritons a 5-1 lead.

In the bottom of the third, the Blackhawks struck back. A leadoff single by Jason Matthews and a one out homerun from Braeden Brown brought the Blackhawks back into the game down by two runs.

Right on cue, the Tritons extended the lead to 8-3 after three Triton runs scored on three hits and two walks.

The Blackhawks answered again in the bottom of the fourth inning with another two run blast, this time by Jason Matthews bringing the score to 8-5. Unfortunately that is all the Blackhawks to muster against the Tritons starter, falling 9-5.

Game 2

Tanner Foster took the mound for the Blackhawks in game two of the series.

In the bottom of the first inning, Chase Wood came around to score on a fielders choice by Luis Vargas putting the Blackhawks ahead 1-0. In the second, Franscisco Guerrero hit a one out single and came around to score on a single by Jason Matthews pushing the score to 2-0.

That lead was erased in the top of the third inning when the Tritons struck for two on a two run homerun. The Tritons then took the lead on a leadoff homerun in the top of the fourth inning.

In the bottom of the fifth inning the Blackhawks tied the game once again after loading the bases with no outs when Luis Vargas hit a sacrifice fly to centerfield tying the game at three. However a double play would end the scoring threat two hitters later.

Tanner Foster gave up a unearned run in the sixth giving the Tritons a one run lead late. Foster finished with a strong line on the day allowing two earned runs in six innings of work while striking out four.

Frank Guerrero came up big for the Blackhawks one more time as he singled in the tying run in the bottom of the seventh inning scoring Oswaldo Calderon. In the bottom of the eighth, a leadoff hit by pitch by Jason Matthews sparked the Blackhawk offense. Josh Rawlinson sacrificed Matthews over followed by a single from Braeden Brown and a walk to Zeb Adreon loaded the bases for Luis Vargas who beat out a groundball to give the Blackhawks the 5-4 lead.

Sam Noel relieved foster in the bottom of the seventh inning and faced the minimum through two innings striking out four. After surrendering back to back singles to start the ninth inning, Trace Hoffman came in and recorded an out on a sacrifice bunt, followed by a strikeout and a groundball to second base stranding the tying and go ahead runs on second and third base.

Game 3

Andrew Stout took the mound for the Blackhawks in game three. Andrew spun a gem for the Blackhawks in the first game on Sunday allowing four hits and striking out seven in six innings of work. His only blemish was a leadoff double, followed by two consecutive groundballs gave the Tritons a 1-0 lead in the top of the fourth. Outside of that double, Stout did not allow another baserunner to reach second base all afternoon. Stout was relieved by Sam Noel in the seventh and Noel promptly got three outs with a sacrifice bunt and two flyballs to keep the score at 1-0 Tritons.

The Blackhawk offense was stymied all day by the Triton starter. The Blackhawks were only able to get four baserunners on base all game two by basehit and two on hit by pitches. The Blackhawks fell 1-0 to the Tritons.

Game 4

In the fourth game of the series the Blackhawks sent Pedro Garcia to the mound. Garcia allowed a run in the top of the second after a leadoff baserunner came around to score on a two out single. The Blackhawks took the lead when two Triton errors and singles from Jason Matthews and Austin Martin made the score 2-1.

In the top of the fourth inning, the Tritons took the lead once again a leadoff walk and back to back two out hits pushed two runs across making the score 3-2.

The Blackhawks offense jumped right back into the lead when Austin Martin hit a leadoff single, followed by a one out hit by pitch gave the Blackhawks two baserunners when Chase Wood hit a two run single to give the Blackhawks the lead.

The Blackhawks pushed their lead to four when Frank Guerrero and Josh Rawlinson both got on base with one out and once again Chase Wood hit a two run double to give the Blackhawks a three run lead. Zeb Adreon then scored Chase Wood pushing the lead to four.

Pedro Garcia finished with a line of five and two thirds innings of four hit baseball, allowing two earned runs and striking out seven. Brian Callaly pitched a third of an inning but stranded two baserunners. Jared Skubic also pitched two innings of relief allowing only one hit and Trace Hoffman came in and closed the door for the Hawks.
