Kaylin Featheringill's walk-off two-run double in the eighth inning lifted Southeastern Community College to a 4-3 victory over North Platte for the Blackhawks' second win in three indoor softball games on Saturday.
Earlier, SCC defeated Dakota County, 9-1, then NIACC had a five-run seventh inning to edge the Blackhawks, 7-6.
Against Dakota County Technical College, Kelsey Witte and Courtney Coffin had three hits each. Witte had two doubles and Coffin strided out an in the park homerun. Emily Parks, Morgan Smith and winning pitcher Hailly Greenough each had two hits. Coffin had a single, double and triple in four trips to the plate against NIACC.
Parks, Smith and Kaylin Featheringill each had two hits. Smith had two doubles. Mattie Lentz (1-1) suffered the loss in the circle. Smith had four doubles in four trips to the plate in the win over North Platte. Featheringill singled and doubled and drove home the tying and winning runs. Greenough (4-1) was again the winning pitcher.

Morgan Smith hit five doubles for the Southeastern Community College softball team Sunday in a pair of victories in Austin, Minn.The freshman hit her first double and drove in two runs in the first game of the day, a 10-2 win for SCC over Dakota County. Smith then connected for four more doubles and drove in another run in a 11-0 defeat of Ellsworth in the Blackhawks' second game.
Smith went 13-for-19 over the weekend for SCC. Twelve of her hits were doubles.
Sophomore Mattie Lentz pitched both games Sunday and improved to 3-1 for the Blackhawks. She struck out nine batters in each game.
SCC is now 7-2 and head to Cocoa Beach, Florida on Friday, March 10th.
The Spring Break Tournament hosted at the Space Coast Complex (Titusville, Florida) goes from March 11th to March 15th with the ten games scheduled for the Blackhawks.
